Translating Research into Highest Quality Patient Care

NHG Grants

Small Innovative Grant (SIG)

The Small Innovative Grant (SIG) was offered from 2005 to 2015 to support research that answers specific, targeted research questions or to perform pilot or feasibility studies. SIG was designed to support small start-up\exploratory studies that might provide preliminary findings for larger research proposals. It also aimed to fund clinically relevant research projects that generate preliminary data to potentially vie for bigger grants on a national level. Successful applications were awarded up to S$100,000 over a maximum of 2 years.

NHG Thematic Grant (NTG)

The NHG Thematic Grant (NTG) was offered in 2012 to build up research capabilities in programmatic areas in order to compete successfully for NMRC’s Translational Clinical Research (TCR) or its equivalent. The grant aimed to facilitate the discovery and application of basic science ideas relevant to the advancement of health, and provide productive platforms for collaboration internally and externally. In the long term, the aim was to help position NHG in the international research arena. Successful applications were awarded up to S$1,000,000 over a maximum of 3 years.
