Our heartfelt congratulations to Dr Rinkoo Dalan, Senior Consultant at the Dept of Endocrinology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital on her attainment of the NMRC Transition Award (TA) for her research on “Relationship of haptoglobin phenotype to vascular changes and response to Vitamin E supplementation in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2: The EVAS trial” on 1st December 2014. 

The NMRC TA is awarded to outstanding budding, young clinicians to assist them in building up their capability in research and  aims to help these clinicians in transitioning to a stable independent research position or other independent research funding, with an enhanced probability of success in obtaining independent research support. 

Dr Dalan was also an awardee of the NHG Clinician-Scientist Career Scheme. Past TA awardees from NHG include Dr Ng Oon Tek, Consultant, Dept of Infectious Diseases, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Dr Jimmy Lee, Consultant, Dept of General Psychiatry, Institute of Mental Health.
