Past Grants


(1) NTU-NHG Innovation Seed Grant (ISG)

The NTU-NHG Innovation Seed Grant is a joint grant call launched in 2011 by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and NHG. The aim of ISG is to fund collaborative projects in various aspects of medical innovation and improvement such as bio-medical engineering, diagnostics, medical devices, therapeutics etc. Aimed to promote greater research collaborations between NTU and NHG, the ISG provides seed funding for potential projects to vie for larger national grants. Successful applications were awarded up to S$100,000 over a maximum of 2 years.

(2) NTU-NHG Innovation Collaboration Grant (ICG)

The NTU-NHG Innovation Collaboration Grant (ICG) is launched in 2012 by NTU and NHG and as a follow-up joint grant from the NTU-NHG Innovation Seed Grant (ISG). Similar to NTU-NHG ISG, it funds collaborative projects in various aspects of health sciences including medical innovation and improvement such as bio-medical engineering, diagnostics, medical devices and therapeutics. It also aims to promote greater research collaborations between NTU and NHG, and to provide seed funding for potential projects to vie for larger national grants.

(3) NTU-NHG Ageing Research Grant (ARG)

The NTU-NHG Ageing Research Grant (ARG) is a joint grant call launched in 2013 by NTU and NHG to fund collaborative projects in ageing research. This grant aims to provide a boost to medical innovation and improvement in healthcare areas to generate new knowledge/outcomes that would have an impact on the delivery of care for the ageing population. In addition, it also aims to foster greater collaboration between NTU and NHG, and to prepare investigators to compete successfully for national funding. Successful applications were awarded up to S$400,000 over a maximum of 3 years.

(4) NTU-NHG Metabolic Diseases Collaboration Grant (MDCG)

The NTU-NHG Metabolic Diseases Collaboration Grant (MDCG) is a joint grant call launched in 2015 by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National Healthcare Group (NHG) to fund collaborative projects in the area of metabolic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, obesity etc. It also aims to promote the application of engineering in medicine to provide a boost to the medical knowledge, innovation, and technological advancement in metabolic diseases that would essentially foster better treatment and lead to healthcare cost reduction for patients. Successful applications were awarded up to S$50,000 over a maximum of 2 years.
