Research Data Management
In accordance with the HBRA Section 27, every person who has obtained individually identifiable information or human biological material for the purposes of human biomedical research must take all reasonable steps and safeguards as may be necessary, including rendering information or material non identifiable, to protect such information or material against accidental or unlawful loss, modification or destruction, or unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
About the NHG Research Data Policy
The Research Data Policy provides the framework for governing research data to ensure compliance with the HBRA, Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), Healthtech Instructions Manual (HIM), IHiS policies and all other relevant regulations.

Addendum to the NHG Research Data Policy Version 1.0 on The Use of FormSG
With effect from 31 October 2022, FormSG can be used for collecting identifiable research data in NHG. Researchers who wish to do so must consider certain data protection measures.

Research Data Oversight Committee (RDOC)
The NHG Research Data Oversight Committee (RDOC) provides oversight of cluster-wide policies and procedures on the use, management and security of research data. The Committee makes recommendations for the improvement of research data management practices to ensure compliance with legislations, in particular the Human Biomedical Research Act (HBRA), and the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and Healthtech Instruction Manual (HIM).
The NHG RDOC is chaired by Asst Prof Eric Wong (Grp Chief Clinical Informatics Officer, NHG) and comprises of relevant domain experts and appointed institution representatives.

NHG Standing Database
With effect from 01 August 2020, all NHG Standing Database applications will be routed for final approval by the NHG RDOC. Please note that you should only proceed with your standing database activities after receiving the RDOC approval letter.
