RRIS Rehabilitation Research Grant (RRG)


INTRODUCTION

The Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore (RRIS) is a collaboration between NTU, A*STAR and NHG. RRIS focuses on four broad research areas, namely psychosocial, neuro-rehabilitation, frailty & nutrition, and advanced technology for rehabilitation continuum of care.

The main objective of this RRIS Rehabilitation Research Grant (RRG) is to promote collaborative rehabilitation research in order to generate new knowledge to improve rehabilitation clinical practices for the local and/or Asian population.

 

ELIGIBILITY

Each application must be submitted by a Clinical Lead-Principal Investigator (PI) and a Technical Lead-Principal Investigator (PI).  Both Clinical and Technical Lead-PIs must be from NTU or NHG or A*STAR.  Other research team members can include co-investigators/collaborators from local/overseas institutions or private companies.  In addition, composition of team members (Co-I and above) for each application should not be all from the same institution.

The Clinical Lead-PI should fall under either one of the following:
 

a.  Doctors who are clinically qualified (i.e. with MD/MBBS/BDS). For proposals involving patients, the doctor

     would need to be a registered medical practitioner.

b.  All other allied health professionals, nurses and LKCMedicine faculty who are PhD holders or equivalent.

     LKCMedicine faculty must be full-time faculty;

     Visiting Professors (spending at least 6 months per year in Singapore) will be eligible;

     Adjunct Professors will not be eligible.

c.  Principal/senior therapists and nurses without PhD or equivalent will require a mentor who meets

     criteria 2.2(a) or 2.2(b).

d.  For proposals involving clinical trial(s), the Clinical PI would need to be either a SMC-registered

     doctor or a licensed allied health professional.

 

The Technical Lead-PI should fulfill the following criteria:
 

a.  Technical Lead-Principal Investigators from A*STAR must be A*STAR independent investigator-equivalents

     (BMRC and SERC). All other A*STAR researchers may be part of the research team as co-investigators

     or collaborators.

b.  Technical Lead-Principal Investigators from NTU must be full-time faculty;

     Visiting Professors (spending at least 6 months per year in Singapore) will be eligible;

     Adjunct Professors will not be eligible.

FUNDING
           
RRG 2: S$500,000 for up to 3 years, with an option to recruit 1 PhD student under the NTU Research Student Scholarship (RSS).

RRG 1: S$250,000 for up to 2 years
